Simple reason to always look closely at food labels

Maltodextrin is not as necessarily harmful to the body as we are lead to believe, but it is still something that should absolutely be given attention to. As compared to trans fats, this long-chain sugar molecule is not nearly as harmful on your cardiovascular system nor overall health. However, the rate of muscle tissue growth will slow down while fat gains begin to speed up with too much maltodextrin in your diet. Given that it is used as a sweetener and not “technically” considered a sugar, it does not have to be labeled as a sugar on  nutrition labels nor the amount that is contained within the product. With this in mind, ensure that you are reading food product labels closely and are not allowing yourself to be mislead into what you are putting into your body. After all, we work too hard on our physiques to allow something so simple to affect our progress.
